Physiotherapy, our sign of identity
Our beginnings date back to 2005, when our founders Tomeu Llabrés and Pau Mas, in their last year of studies at the UIB (University of the Balearic Islands), had it clear: they wanted to form a team in their own private practice dedicated to sports physiotherapy.
2009 It was the year of the opening of the first centre, which consisted simply of 2 treatment cabins. During its first years they alternated the sessions with the patients with their respective jobs in sports clubs such as Reial Mallorca, Palma Futsal (former fisiomedia Manacor) or in the Centro de Tecnificación Deportiva in the artistic gymnastics and wrestling programmes.
In the beginning, treatment focused on passive therapies such as manual therapy, osteopathy, massage or dry needling.
In just 2 years (2011), they already had to make a crucial decision to quit their respective clubs and dedicate 200% of their time to the physiotherapy centre.
They decided to move to the upper floor of the same building, acquiring premises four times larger than the previous one, where they could now have a free space for exercise and the active part of treatment with 6 boxes for physiotherapy and rehabilitation services.
With the change of location, it was clear to them that they had to focus on exercise as an active part and on the invasive ultrasound-guided therapies that had proven to be an advance in both safety and results, so they began what was to be several years of training in this direction.
In 2015, Tomeu (one of the founding partners) decided to embark, successfully to date, on his solo career in international football. This condition forces him to divide tasks and delegate functions, in what will be a few more years dedicated to improving the service and efficiency within the company based on trial and error, resulting in what will be the basis of the current operation of the company.
In 2018 the company “Servicios Fisioterapia Mallorca SL” is created from the new partners: Cati, Miquel and Pau as owners, from the acquisition of the premises that was rented until then, a 10-year project is established with the clear objective of being the reference centre in the Balearic Islands, not only in the sports field but also in Health in general, through a network of professionals both inside and outside the facilities, working as a team for the good of the user having the human aspect as the main axis.
The post-Covid crisis in 2020, only strengthens the ties between professionals both inside and outside the facilities, giving rise to what will be called the Fisioplanet DNA. Being a set of own and unique characteristics created in these first 11 years of life.
As a philosophy of the centre, a search for transdisciplinary knowledge is initiated, allocating all resources and communication and training between professionals from different areas with the aim of providing treatment with a holistic approach to the patient.
