PHYSIOTHERAPY
Fisioplanet was born with a strong character in traumatological physiotherapy and sports physiotherapy.
Physiotherapy with a holistic approach thanks to multidisciplinary treatment.
This is our sign of identity, this is how we were born, with a clear character in traumatological physiotherapy and sports physiotherapy, as all our professionals have some connection to sport, being federated sportsmen and women, some of them at international level. They also practice sport on a regular basis or work in clinical practice in professional sport, for example physiotherapy in football, indoor football, basketball, artistic gymnastics or athletics.
Over time we have been transforming and moving to other fields of action to offer a wider coverage to our patients. The figure of the sports physiotherapist has evolved into that of a physiotherapist who solves musculoskeletal problems in collaboration with other professionals, giving rise to multidisciplinary treatment and transdisciplinary knowledge.
Who is physiotherapy for?
Any person, athlete or not, who suffers from pain, discomfort or is unable to carry out their daily activity, work or sport because of an injury such as: back pain, plantar fasciopathy (fasciitis), sprains, tendinopathies (wrongly called tendinitis), shoulder pain, bursitis…
Or even to those who want to improve their sporting performance, such as improving joint ranges in crossfitters, improving running mechanics in runners or preventing ankle sprains in basketball players.
What are the physiotherapy sessions based on?
Our treatment consists of individual sessions of 50 minutes in which our physiotherapists are in charge of carrying out the treatment:

Initial assessment
Control of acute symptoms
From the first visit, the patient normally highlights pain above all others, although we also find: strength deficits, reduced mobility, movement disorders, sensory deficits and avoidance behaviours created by fear and insecurity.
Normally in this phase we use more passive techniques such as manual therapy, massage, radiofrequency, percutaneous electrolysis, dry needling or electro-puncture, although we are known for prescribing exercises that can be done at home from the beginning, facilitating self-management of the injury by the patient from the first day.

Progression of strength exercises
Once the acute phase has been controlled, they will improve functionality and provide our patients with independence in the future, reducing the risk of relapse. At this stage, depending on the patient’s needs and pathology, we can refer the patient to the readaptation service (especially for sports injuries) where much more complete exercise sessions will be carried out, or if the patient comes for chronic and/or persistent back pain, the referral is to our back school to continue with a more complete follow-up of exercises.
Discharge, recommendations and steps to follow
At the end of the treatment, we provide our patients with recommendations and steps to follow, choosing the most decisive actions to avoid a relapse of the symptoms.

Objectives

Specialists in sports physiotherapy
We work as a team with different sports specialists.
We have trainers, nutritionists, doctors, podiatrists, psychologists inside and outside our facilities to provide the maximum resources to the athletes who visit us.
The sports physiotherapy sessions follow the same procedure and price as a regular physiotherapy session, taking into account the specific biomechanical requirements of the athlete in question and adapting to the needs of training planning and competition schedules.
Our philosophy is to manage the training load according to the symptoms of the athlete, together with the trainer to achieve the least number of training sessions possible, adapting the load by changing surfaces, footwear, intensities, weights, cross training…
